Steel Grit Media Blasting Services in Cleveland

Metal parts rust over time that can lead to parts breaking and needing repair or requiring replacement. We can help you properly maintain ferrous metal parts by blasting and readying them for restoration. Abrasive blasting is faster and more efficient than manual methods, speeding up project timelines significantly and improving overall productivity. This saves you time and money by increasing durability, reducing the risk of failures, downtime, and cost of replacement parts.

We utilize angular steel grit media blasting for thorough and effective cleaning. Steel grit is highly effective at removing these from heavy machinery and metallic parts:

  • Rust
  • Mill scale
  • Dirt
  • Deposits
  • Paint / graffiti
  • Other contaminants

If your parts are covered in oils or grease, we generally will NOT blast them as these liquids cause the media to clump and can clog or damage our recirculation system.

Media blasting prepares parts as the surface ends up clean and smooth (surface about the finish of 220 grit sandpaper). This preps the metal surface for proper adhesion, ready for painting, plating, or other high-quality coatings, extending the life of your metal, ensuring longevity, and optimal performance.

2. Metals we Blast

Blasting is suitable for industrial applications and heavy-duty fabrications of ferrous metals. We can blast any type of metal product but extremely tough metals like chrome or tungsten carbide aren’t recommended. We generally see these types of metals come into our facility:

  • steel
  • titanium
  • aluminum
  • bronze
  • iron
  • brass
  • nickel
  • Zinc

Why We Use Steel Grit for Media Blasting

We choose steel grit for our abrasive blasting processes due to its unparalleled effectiveness and efficiency in handling heavy metal fabrications and parts. It is ideal for maintenance and refurbishment of industrial equipment and steel fabrications.

Aggressive Cleaning Power

Steel grit provides a highly aggressive cleaning action, making it ideal for removing tough contaminants such as rust, paint, and mill scale. This ensures a thoroughly cleaned, smoothed, and descaled surface, ready for further processing or finishing.

Consistent Quality

The strength of steel and angular shape of steel grit particles maintains a consistent profile during blasting, resulting in uniform surface preparation. This consistency helps achieve reliable, high-quality results for every project.

Efficiency in Heavy-Duty Applications

Given its strength and efficiency, steel grit is particularly suitable for heavy-duty applications. It can tackle large and thick steel parts, ensuring efficient cleaning without damaging the material’s integrity.

Enhanced Surface Preparation

The sharp edges of steel grit particles create an ideal surface profile for coating adhesion. This enhanced surface preparation results in improved bonding of paints, coatings, and other finishes, ensuring longer-lasting protection.

Environmental Friendly

Steel grit is a non-toxic and environmentally friendly abrasive media. Its recyclability and reduced dust generation contribute to a cleaner and safer working environment.

By utilizing steel grit, Biddleblast ensures that our clients receive the highest quality abrasive blasting services, characterized by efficiency, precision, and sustainability.
